Homemaking
Our programs and services aim to reduce isolation/loneliness, reduce food insecurity or ensure access to regular balanced meals, access to medical and non-medical appointments. They also minimize the risk of falls and provide general assistance with house cleaning, all of which can become increasingly challenging as individuals age. Our screened homemakers have proven to making a positive difference in decreasing unnecessary and costly hospital admissions, emergency department visits and admissions into long-term care, by being present in our client’s home, ensuring they are living in a clean space. The Homemaking program offers:
- Light housekeeping duties
- In-home laundry service
- Light meal preparation
Scheduling of homemaking visits is based on the need of our clients. They can choose a cadence of, weekly, bi-weekly or monthly homemaking visits with a minimum two-hour service per month. Our homemakers utilize our client’s preferred solutions and detergents, as we recognize that many individuals have a sensitivity or preference to scents. For hygienic reasons, our homemakers will also utilize cleaning tools provided by our clients, which remain in our client’s home. This fee-based service is billed monthly via Direct Debit (other payment plans may be available, please inquire) and has helped many of our clients live happy in their home.
Are you an older adult (65+) or an adult living with a disability that is requiring support with homemaking? If so, the Homemaking program could be right for you!
