About Us
Happy in my Home, Community Support Services of Niagara is a volunteer based not-for-profit agency providing comprehensive client-driven community support services to help older adults and adults with disabilities live independently in their own homes. We take pride in the meaningful work we do that positively impacts the clients that we serve.
Timeline:
- 1967 the birth of Meals on Wheels within the Niagara Region, established in Welland
- 1971 the commencement of hot meals being delivered in Grimsby
- 1972 the commencement of hot meals being delivered Beamsville
- 1990 the commencement of hot meals being delivered West Lincoln
- Over the next eight (8) years, six (6) additional community support services were added to Meals on Wheels Welland, forming the Welland Meals on Wheels/Community Support Services agency
- 1998 marks the formation of the West Niagara Community Support Services agency, encompassing: Grimsby, Beamsville and West Lincoln Meals on Wheels, offering five (5) community support services
- 2000 Welland Meals on Wheels/Community Support Services and the West Niagara Community Support Services agencies merged to form Community Support Services of Niagara offering various community support services to older adults and adults living with a disability within the Niagara Region
- 2022 rebranding of Community Support Services of Niagara to Happy in my Home
At Happy in my Home, we strive to work closely with community partners and healthcare professionals to keep older adults in their home and from frequenting the emergency department or admission to an alternate level of care bed. We offer a number of programs including, Meals on Wheels, Safety at Home, Homemaking, Grocery Delivery, Transportation, Friendly Visiting and more. Thanks to our dedicated staff, team of volunteers, funders, donors and sponsors we continue to be able to offer exceptional services to our clients and we welcome all older adults (65+) to contact us to learn more about how to stay happy in their home.
